Double Trouble

Twitter has announced that it’s trialing a 280 character limit with some users, as this has been a big cause of frustration with users not being able to freely express themselves within the tight constraints of a 140 character limit.

Hmmm.

Personally, I don’t want to log on to Twitter each day to find people babbling on just because they’ve got the extra characters to use.

Keep it short and sweet. My brain can’t handle babble.

There are so many different social media platforms to use where you can express yourself in more than 140 characters. Why can’t Twitter stick with its unique style?

Social media site Twitter is trialling longer character limits to help users "easily express themselves". Twitter currently limits tweets to 140 characters, but has doubled that to 280 characters for a small group of users. The current character limit was "a major cause of frustration" for some users, the firm said in a blog post.
