Twit Twit Hooray?

By Sarah Wixon

Today saw the rollout of the new 280 character limit on the Twitter platform.

Apparently, when it was trialed, many users didn't actually use their new limits anyway - so it kind of begs the question why it went to a full launch.

But, like it or not, the new limit now gives us double the characters and I'm sure we'll quickly see the changes on our feeds - short and sweet no longer!

Twitter has announced that it’s trialing a 280 character limit with some users, as this has been a big cause of frustration with users not being able to freely express themselves within the tight constraints of a 140 character limit. Hmmm. Personally, I don’t want to log on to Twitter each day to find people babbling on just because they’ve got the extra characters to use. Keep it short and sweet. My brain can’t handle babble.
