Fleet Drivers...think before you travel this holiday season

By Ollie Church

With the holiday season in full flow, tourists are flocking to all areas of the UK in the hope to catch some of the elusive British sunshine. Many believe this always leads to one very busy road network. However, believe it or not, roads outside tourist attractions get quieter during the school holidays and fleet drivers need to be taking advantage of this.

As highlighted by RAM Tracking, the holiday period will allow you to use the road network to its full potential. The use of automotive fleet and tracking technology will allow you to keep ahead of the game and ultimately save you time - and in the long run money.

So, the message is clear - make sure you plan ahead and use your telematics and fleet efficiency tools to their full advantage.

Freer-flowing traffic during the holiday period is saving time and money for businesses using the road network to generate revenue. The summer holiday period is traditionally seen as a time when the roads get busier, but data from RAM Tracking has found the period is actually far quieter for fleet drivers. Fleet and operational managers are advised to take account of these factors of how the summer holiday driving experience could affect their enterprise and efficiency – and make suitable adjustments to ensure that they benefit. RAM Tracking says the gift of extra can be utilised in other ways during this period. Additionally, there is more opportunity to save fuel by looking at alternative routes that are freed up by less vehicles being on the road than usual.
