2020: More of the same or reasons to be cheerful?

The Automotive industry is embracing change. At least, that’s the overriding theme from the attached article which looks at how the sector might fare in 2020 from leaders at businesses across the sector.

Hot industry topics include the transition to electric vehicles & mobility as a service (MaaS). The message being delivered by vehicle manufacturers is positive and supported by the government with their new benefit-in-kind policy for electric vehicles as well as future propositions looking at MaaS and how their routes to the customer will change.

Fleet management, contract hire & fleet service providers are rising to the challenges that they face in moving away from their traditional business models – including personal over business contract hire (a trend very much on the rise) – WLTP & embedding data/technology in decision making and ensuring they retain competitive edge by advising their customers on cost reductions via their fleet policies.

There’s no hiding the fact that the last couple of years have been tough in the automotive market but there are genuine reasons to be positive.
