Is 'Fordism' back?

By Olly Woodall

For(d)ever at the front of Jobs and production! The U.S based automotive business has committed £230m to regenerate Halewood Plant to support the EV industry with components being made in the UK for Europe.

Great news for not just one, but two reasons.

Firstly investment in the UK and production of EVs on our shores which will reduce costs and time for delivery. And secondly, more jobs within the industry when we have had some really stark times with OEMS pulling out of the UK completely (Mitsubishi) and plant closures (Honda). This investment will create new jobs for the North West and Ford are really pushing forward with this commitment with new ranges of EVs...which this component plant will help to build. Well Done Ford!! Great news all round.
