AI to be replacing teachers by 2029?

By Ryan Glover

No of course it won’t, but the use of AI is ever growing when it comes to optimising L&D outcomes. With use cases including knowledge retention, hyper individualised learning, immersive learning experiences and adaptive tutorial systems to name a few.

Annual market growth of AI in the Education sector is predicted to expand at a Compound Annual Growth Rate of 33.5% between now and 2029 according to an article by Yahoo! Finance.

By this time the market is predicted to be worth 43.47 billion USD globally (compared to 10.25 USD million at current). It will be very interesting to see which way VCs hedge their bets when it comes to AI/EdTech solutions over the next few years!

Having worked in education briefly myself and working in partnership with several EdTech start-ups and scale-ups during my time at PIE, I personally feel AI is something to embrace as a supportive tool for a future of up-skilled and diverse workforces.

What are your thoughts?

Artificial intelligence in the education market is worth US$10.248 billion in 2024. It is projected to exhibit a remarkable CAGR of 33.51%, reaching a market value of US$43.467 billion by 2029.
