EGG-streme damage to charging points. So, #HowDoYouEatYours

By Pie Recruitment

This has tickled some and outraged others, but in all seriousness this is something that needs to be addressed. People have been vandalizing charging points with... that's right. Creme Eggs.

So how can we stop our charging points from being vandalized? What security measures can be put in place to prevent not only £800 worth of damage, but the inconvenience of not being able to charge your car?

Now I've been having a little think and have come up with the idea of an app based lock, so that when the app is present, the lid will lift and you can charge your car? Or maybe some form of scanning tool? But of course, none of this comes for free!

I'm definitely no EGGS-pert but without something being put in place, are we at risk of an EGG-stremely messy problem?

"Not only is that a total waste of creme eggs, but it is ridiculous it still hasn't been fixed. If we are to encourage more drivers to go electric we really need a better level of service." A spokesperson for Moray Council said: “An act of vandalism has caused £800 of damage to the electric vehicle charging station in Aberlour.  "We are in discussion with our contractor to have this repaired and brought back into service as soon as possible.”
