Heading to the beach this weekend? Think again!

By Pie Recruitment

Great news... The summer is coming!

But if you're planning on travelling this weekend… I would read the below first!

I thought a sunny bank holiday weekend was unheard of - it's not a British bank holiday weekend without some drizzle. Don't get me wrong, I’m not complaining!

If my trusty iPhone weather app is anything to go by, we're in for a VERY pleasant weekend. But when the weather is good, and the sun is shining, what do us Brits tend to do? Head to the beach, go camping, go somewhere/anywhere to soak up those glorious rays.

Oh not me though. I can assure you that you'll find me either in a beer garden or mowing the lawn this weekend as I'll be avoiding the dreaded bank holiday traffic like the plague!

If you are planning on going somewhere this weekend, check for expected delays! It may be worth scheduling a few pit stops along the way, or you may end up playing 150 games of "I Spy!"

So whether you're out in your gardens, heading down to the river or taking a trip to the beach (even though you may need to leave at 3AM to avoid the traffic) enjoy the sunshine... I will be!

At least 8.5 million leisure trips by car are planned for the spring bank holiday weekend, according to the RAC. Friday (May 4) is expected to be the busiest day, with around 2.9m trips planned for that day. The RAC says that the majority of these are likely to be condensed into the afternoon and into the evening rush hour.
