Coffee. I don't know about you but it gets me through the day...
Bad day? Coffee.
Good day? Coffee.
Lots of work to do today? Coffee. You get the gist.
And I can't be the only one. In the UK, we now drink approximately 95 million cups of coffee a day (1/3 of which I would imagine is drunk in this office alone).
We all love a trip to one of the big high street coffee shops too - and with the market last year being worth £10b in the UK and in 8% growth - it's safe to say we drink a latte of the stuff!
So it was no surprise then that we saw one of the big FMCG boys, Coca-Cola, acquire Costa at the turn of the year and after months of speculation we have finally seen their first play in the market - Iced Coffee Cans!
The new range comprises of Classic Latte, Caramel Latte and Black Americano flavours and apparently has 30% less sugar "than most other ready-to-drink coffees in the UK".
The concept isn't new but offering a low calorie option - just in time for summer - should play in Coca-Cola's favour.
So, if you are a Costa fan like myself, we now have a new way to get our fix.
Get involved!
Coca-Cola has unveiled a trio of Costa Coffee RTDS, putting an end to weeks of speculation around a move into cans for the Costa brand. The range comprises Classic Latte, Caramel Latte and Black Americano flavours, and is billed as containing 30% less sugar “than most other ready-to-drink coffees in Great Britain”, with 95 - 120 calories per 250ml can.
