Is there really a shortage? Im sure the BBCs own Phil McCann thinks so! I am fed up of seeing ques of traffic as I am sure you all are too. However i cant help but think of the EV benefits as we edge towards the 2030 deadline for solely EV new car sales.
Is this a government plan to increase demand for EV adoption in UK? Increase lorry driver applications? Who knows but the smug EV driver memes are slightly starting to grate on me (even though some are actually really funny!). Whatever it is, it has sent EV enquiries through the roof with battery electric vehicles comprising 9% of sales. Plug-in hybrids accounted for 8% of sales and hybrid electric vehicles nearly 12% in July and for the second month in a row EV sales have out sold Diesel cars.
"Range anxiety" was meant for EV drivers and potential EV drivers not for petrol and diesel drivers as they are only able to buy £30 worth of fuel. Is this the camel that is going to break the back of the EV transition and our road to zero?
I am sure once Phil has stopped reporting on his fuel issues and another strain of covid is discovered, all will be forgotten and we will get back to normal.
