I don't know about you but the news that William Shatner, AKA Captain Kirk, finally made it to space has made my week.
I even watched the livestream yesterday, I was that excited.
I have no idea why this captured my imagination quite so much, possibly just the nostalgic harking back to a childhood (oops, showing my age now 🙄) where the Starship Enterprise was THE spaceship (sorry Millennium Falcon) and the dashing Captain Kirk pretty much ruled space - whatever it was, all the old Star Trek catchphrases came flooding back - beam me up Scotty, I'm givin her all she's got Captain, Space - the final frontier, it's life Jim but not as we know it...you get the idea.
How amazing that in his 90th year, William finally go to boldly go himself. Such a fitting event for an iconic man/character.
Now to watch the reruns whilst singing about Klingons on the starboard bow...

The flight, which took off from Texas, lasted about 11 minutes, traveling 62 miles above Earth. The mission makes 90-year-old Shatner the oldest person to fly to space.
