Wow - what an amazing deal! 100,000 Model 3s just in the USA alone. Hertz go big on EV and also partner with Uber to provide flexible rental for Uber's workforce. I know this is just in the USA but could we see this in the UK in a similar fashion? After Mays announcement of potential bankruptcy, then a buyout quickly found in July this year from a group of investors (including Knighthead Capital management, Certares Opportunities, and Apollo Capital Management) for around $6billion, Hertz has now entered a new vertical in the US.
Could this or will this be replicated in the UK? With other businesses like Splend, ottocar and weflex already established in the UK market, will Hertz be able to take some of the market share, offer lower rates due to the backing of the investment? Will others then be tempted to join the party? I'm looking forward to seeing how this pans out.
