AI is everywhere at the moment, and people are talking about how it's changing the landscape within the market.
And when it comes to the SaaS job market, candidates are frothing at the mouth to get into an AI-led business.
SaaS businesses are flooding the market; according to data from Pitchbook there are 40,647 SaaS businesses headquartered in the USA and 7204 in the UK.
In this saturated market, SaaS businesses are trying to stay relevant. “How are they doing that Jake, please tell me?”, I can hear you asking ;-)
AI.
If you're a SaaS business and throwing AI into your model, then that will give you a lot more pull on fantastic talent. I've had a lot of conversations recently where my candidates have told me that the top type of software business they want to work in, is one where the product has AI embedded into it.
I always ask why and keep getting the same answer - “It's relevant.”
I work with a number of AI businesses at the moment whose software is revolutionising the more dated industries such as retail, construction and even the museum space.
AI is also being used to streamline operations, automate repetitive tasks and productively optimize a range of business functions.
I don't think AI is scary at all, if anything it's changing the world of work and also giving a better understanding of customers through data-led metrics. It's a bit of a no-brainer really.
What are your thoughts on AI in the SaaS market?
