Sweets for my sweet, 30% less sugar for my honey!

By Pie Recruitment

Cadbury are coming up with a lot of trendy, innovative ideas lately including ‘Create your own chocolate bar’. And the latest trend they’ve come up with is a 30% less sugar bar…and I’m a tad sceptical.

I’m your typical ‘sweet tooth’ girl; put any sugary food in front of me and you’ll be my best friend forever! Nothing quite beats a mid-afternoon cuppa tea whilst delving into a perfectly refrigerated bar of Cadbury Dairy Milk. Am I right or am I right?

Now whilst I may be happy eating that chocolate, my hips definitely are not! As Kate Moss famously said “a moment on the lips, is a lifetime on the hips”, this is true and something I should probably try to follow by more often.

But not to worry! Cadbury are here to help a sister out with this new 30% less sugar bar. After 11 years fighting for this great bit of NPD, the wait is finally over. 32% of you can’t wait to try this product with a mere 12% of the nation not interested whatsoever.

For me, it’s all about the flavour. I’ll be intrigued to try this bar, but I can assure you if it doesn’t taste anything like the full fat bar…I’m not interested either.

Mondelez International has unveiled ambitious sugar reduction plans for many of its treats, including Cadbury, Oreo and Maynards Bassetts. Cadbury Boost+ Protein, which will contain 12g of protein per bar, will launch in August 2018, with 32% less sugar than the standard Boost bar. From late 2019 Cadbury Dairy Milk will be available with 30% less sugar, offering consumers greater choice and helping them to manage their sugar intake.
