Cover letters are still relevant - but keep it brief

I wrote about cover letters almost two years ago, and its still a strong subject...Glassdoor have just published their latest advice on cover letters - and yes - they are still relevant!

Writing a tailored cover letter for a job you really are interested in is a must.

Whether its directly with an employer or with a recruiter, you'll need to stand out.

As a recruiter, It certainly makes a difference for me, I'll always read them..if they are to the point and catchy.

Do a cover letter for a job you're keen to pursue, here's three top tips from Glassdoor...

1. Contact and Greeting With your contact details at the top of the letter, have a professional sounding personal email address and make your telephone number clearly visible. 2. The Content Pick out key requirements, skills and experience from the advert and make sure you highlight how you meet the criteria. Include metrics and key data to emphasise certain points. Use bullet points. As well as stating why you think you are right for the role, include what you are passionate about and how that links to the job requirements and the organisation you are applying to. 3. Keep it Brief Recruiters will be looking through a mountain of CV’s and letters so get yours to stand out.  You should be able to get all the salient points down on to half a page of A4,
