Although they have quite clearly said the traditional dealer model is changing, they have been quick to clarify this will not replace it, but purely a good option for dealers, in this case in and around London, where there is limited real estate and high rental costs involved. The service will hopefully help the brand to break into cold territories where it is has a lower retail representation.
I for one see this as a great option for people who don’t enjoy the car buying environment in dealers. It will allow the consumer to have a more personal/boutique experience which is something often lost in this modern age.

They will also benefit from a full mobile servicing programme as part of the SsangYong Metro service. Nick Laird, managing director at SsangYong Motors UK, said; “SsangYong Metro is a very exciting project for SsangYong Motors UK. “We are deliberately creating a new type of retail offering in a location where dealerships are limited, and premises are extremely expensive or hard to find. “It’s a step towards online retailing, however we still strongly believe in the traditional dealer model - we know that our consumers still require personal support and advice.”
