Business and pleasure? Why not…

By Pie Recruitment

Now I like a compliment as much as the next guy, especially if the next guy is slightly overweight and still living at home with his mum…like myself. BUT as the saying goes, should you really mix business with pleasure? With the amount of dating apps now on the market is there really any need to deliver your best one liners via a platform which is dedicated to professional networking?

Sure, a quick “how you doing handsome?” would be a welcome distraction from my admin but I barely have enough time in the day as it is, let alone trying to come up with clever yet flirty messages. What if you accidentally sent a client one of these messages? You’d probably say goodbye to any future business plans. Obviously, there is an outside chance the recipient of the message would be charmed by your engaging profile photo (mine has an attractive colour wash entitled ‘mushroom’) and witty repartee, but my guess is that’s pretty unlikely. Save it for Tinder folks.

LinkedIn is a professional network on which people communicate with employers and source new job opportunities; as such, it is one of the most popular platforms among professionals. However, one user got more than she bargained for when she received a message from a man she had never met before. Believing it to be a potential job offer from a recruiter or employer, she opened the message. Instead, she was propositioned by a man who saw her profile on the dating app Tinder, reports The Guardian.
